Great mobile games that work offline

We test RPGs, puzzles, and simulators that run without a data connection, so a dead spot on the train no longer means a dead screen. Every game here has been installed, played through, and written about honestly by the editors. Recently we spent a week with Big Rush Cast and put together our full impressions.

Why us

We actually play

Every review comes from real sessions, usually several hours, not from a store description. If we quit early, we explain why.

No paid placements

Studios do not pay to appear here and cannot pay for a higher score. The rating reflects what we thought.

Tested offline

We check each game in airplane mode before recommending it, so you know it works with no signal.

Ashfall Wardens
RPG

Ashfall Wardens

★★★★★ 4.6

Ashfall Wardens is the kind of RPG you can lose an evening to without noticing. It downloads the whole story upfront, so once installed you never see a loading spinner waiting on servers. You lead a small party through turn-based battles while slowly restoring a ruined settlement, and the two halves feed each other nicely.

  • Full story available offline
  • Thoughtful turn-based combat
  • Characters that remember your choices

Questions & answers

How do you choose which games to review?

We look for games that genuinely work offline, are complete enough to enjoy, and give us something worth discussing. Every candidate gets played for several sessions before we decide, and if it does not hold up we simply do not publish it. We prioritise variety, so the catalog stays a mix of genres rather than one type.

Do studios pay you for reviews?

No. Nobody pays to appear on the site or to get a higher score, and we buy or download the games ourselves. Our rating only reflects what the editors thought after playing.

Can I suggest a game for you to cover?

Absolutely, we take reader suggestions seriously and check as many as we can. Just email us the game name and why you like it. For example, a reader tip is part of how Big Rush Cast ended up on our test phones, and we ended up writing a full piece on it.

Is there advertising on the site?

We keep things light, with no pop-ups or auto-play video. If we ever run a simple banner to cover hosting costs, it is clearly separated from our reviews and never affects a score. Editorial content stays independent from anything commercial.
